From May 24

We were delighted to welcome Rev Paul Filmer to Axmouth Church to take our Sunday morning service of Holy Communion. On this Pentecost Sunday, Paul preached on being filled with the Holy Spirit, as were the Apostles at the first Christian Pentecost.

Axmouth Churchwarden Ann Harding reminded us that there will be no service here next Sunday, May 31. In its place, we shall have an Axe Valley Mission Community team service, as is our custom in months with a fifth Sunday. The service will be held at 10:30 in the Minster Church, Axminster, and gives our Rector Leisa Potter the opportunity to welcome the Bishop of Crediton, Rt Rev Moira Astin to minister to us. There will be an opportunity to meet the Bishop after the service.

Ann also took the opportunity to forewarn us that there will be some alterations to our usual service pattern in the coming weeks.
On Sunday 28 June, there will a team service at Axminster to welcome the new curate to the Axe Valley Mission Community, Rev Teressa Cornish.
On Sunday 12 July we shall celebrate Sea Sunday in an open-air service at Axmouth Harbour. As last year, this will take place by the Quayside Café.
On Sunday 26 July we shall mark the Axmouth Village Show with an open-air service in the show field.
Further details nearer the time.
In all these cases there will not be a service in church.
