Today’s service was led by Elisabeth Stewart and was devoted to Luke 9:51-62
George Allhusen read the passage and Hilary Harron drew comparisons with some of the political themes of today but stressing the fundamental difference also.
Harry Eaton accompanied our worship on the organ and Elisabeth ended by sharing an Agape Meal. This is a meal of Christian fellowship recalling those that Jesus shared with disciples during his ministry and that the early Followers of the Way continued to share with each other. It is not the same as the Lord’s Supper, it requires no clergy and anyone can take part in it.
