Minnie Newbery’s funeral took place in church on Friday 3rd May

Kate Eaton led our Sunday service this week while Nicky Davies spoke and presided at Communion.

We took the opportunity after the service to open a bottle of Prosecco and make a presentation to Chris Wakely in appreciation of his seven year stint cutting the churchyard grass. We also enjoyed excellent cakes made by Yvonne and Bernard’s grandson Marcus!

The church and the whole of Axmouth village was saddened to hear that Minnie Newbery has died. There will be a proper opportunity here to pay tribute to Minnie in due course, meanwhile we await confirmation of her funeral service in church on Friday 3rd May at 1.30pm.

This week’s Sunday worship was run by the lay team. Lesley took the service and Nigel manfully overcame problems with the church sound system to enable us to sing along to the hymn music!
