Clive to retire at end August

The Bishop of Exeter has received official notice that Revd Clive Sedgewick, Team Rector of Axminster, Chardstock, All Saints, Combpyne with Rousdon, Uplyme, Axmouth and Membury, intends to retire at the end of August 2023.

The Archdeacon of Exeter writes:

“We are grateful for Revd Clive’s ministry in the Axe Valley Mission Community. It is not an easy task leading a church and, in his time here since 2017, Clive has been able to bring together seven different churches under the Axe Valley team banner. His pastoral ministry is deeply appreciated by the wider community and is very much a visible presence in the town. Our prayers and thanks are with him and Andrea during these next few months. I will work with the Churchwardens in this time of change and will meet with them shortly to begin planning for the vacancy.”
