Our Mission Statement

Axmouth Church

Axmouth Church seeks to be a blessing to the village of Axmouth and have an impact in the wider world. We aim to do this through four areas - the church building, pastoral care, the Parish News and through just giving.

Sunday Worship

We gather every Sunday for a short time of prayer in the Bindon Chapel at 9.30 am.

Then our weekly service takes place in the main church at 10 am. You will find the worship intimate, warm and friendly and the service theme is Bible-based. A list of Bible Readings and Themes for the current year is here.

Most hymns and songs are taken from Complete Anglican Hymns Old and New. This book embraces contemporary material as well as many treasures from an earlier age.

Our service includes Holy Communion twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, celebrated by the Revd Kate Woolven (vicar), the Revd Ann Stuckey (associate priest), the Revd Terry Barratt or other clergy. And we share a lay-led Agape Meal at 10am on the 5th Sunday of those months that have five.

We invite you to stay after the 10 o’clock service and chat over free coffee and biscuits.

We also have an early communion at 8 am on the 1st Sunday of each month. This is a spoken service, based on the Book of Common Prayer, and the Revd John Newton normally presides.
